What is a greyhound track record?
A track record is the fastest time officially recorded at a venue over a set distance. Records typically fall when a venue is reconfigured — new surfaces and altered circuits often run faster, as at Cannington in 2024 and The Q in 2025 — or when a generational greyhound peaks, like Jungle Johnny's sub-29 at Wentworth Park. When a venue closes permanently, as Albion Park did in 2025, its records stand forever and remain the benchmark for the circuits that replace them.
